Geared to community foundations and other funders that seek to employ local strategies to build family and community assets! Join us for an interactive, full-day symposium highlighting concrete examples of proven and promising policies and programs. Valuable conversation for foundation staff and board members as well as your non-funder partners.

Hear from national experts, community foundation staff, board and partners who participated in the CFLeads Family Economic Security Action Alliance funded by the Charles Stewart Mott and W. K. Kellogg foundations.

There is no charge to attend the Symposium.

Anchor Strategies and Beyond — Community Foundations and Anchor Institutions Leading Community Wealth Building. Local and national experts will present examples in Albuquerque and Cleveland where leaders are showing how health care institutions and community foundations are transforming local practices on procurement, workforce hiring and training, and other steps that bring communities and anchor institutions together.

Lunch Plenary:

Ray Boshara, Senior Adviser/Director, Center for Household Financial Stability, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, and Senior Fellow, Financial Security Program, The Aspen Institute. Boshara will discuss the current research on the causes of the family wealth gaps, the policies that are working, and how community foundations can help. He will also reflect on the future of wealth building.

Families Save and Engage - Community Foundations on the Forefront of Family Asset Building. Local and national foundations will make the case for why family asset development is so important and discuss what it takes to create and expand children's savings accounts (CSAs) and other wealth-building tools.

And Other Leading Thinkers. Speakers will explore what's needed to embed asset and community wealth building principles into policies and systems. They will share lessons learned on collaborations in support of this work.

Attendees are welcome to stay at a hotel of their choice. Several hotels including those in Boston's Seaport and Financial Districts are in close proximity of One Financial Center, with a few in walking distance.
