CFLeads welcomes Meghan Cummings as Senior Vice President of Strategy, Impact, and Operations
At the beginning of February, CFLeads named Meghan Cummings as its new Senior Vice President of Strategy, Impact, and Operations.
In this newly formed position, Cummings will work closely with the President and CEO to execute strategy and advance the practice of community leadership among U.S. community foundations. She will also work closely with the staff leads on programs to advance CFLeads’ strategic objectives: building community leadership capacity for impact, galvanizing progress on community issues, sharing knowledge for community change, organizing the field for improved community outcomes, and leading with operational excellence.
We look forward to officially welcoming Meghan to the team in mid-March!
CFLeads staff convene in Charlotte, NC for Quarterly Staff Advance
At the end of February, CFLeads staff met at the beautiful Foundation For The Carolinas in Charlotte, NC.
We spent two days focusing on our CFLeads 2.0 work plan led by The Bridgespan Group and centering our work in racial equity. With an amazing guest facilitator, Linetta Gilbert (Gilbert & Associates, LLC), an uplifting message from the comedian Akintunde Warnock, Sr., and brand new staff members, we had a rich and productive team-building experience. We departed from Charlotte with a deepened understanding and commitment to the CFLeads 2.0 ambitious plan.

Danka Klein celebrates 90 days with CFLeads
Danka Klein, Director of Development and Marketing, completed her first 90 days with the CFLeads team in February!
Danka comes to CFLeads with over 12 years of experience leading a rural community foundation in Liberty, Indiana. Now as a key thought leader on the CFLeads team, Danka is motivated to empower community foundations on their path to community leadership. During her first 90 days, Danka has advanced strategies that connect CFLeads to local and national partners, initiated a strategic development plan and had overseen marketing and communications activities.

North Carolina community foundations gather in Winston-Salem, NC
Dr. Leonard Brock, CFLeads’ Vice President for Learning and Impact (Issues) presented to over 40 North Carolina community foundation staff members at the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers session in Winston-Salem, NC.
