CFLeads staff engage in conversation with Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina

In November, CFLeads staff met in Charleston, S.C. for a staff advance, generously hosted by the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina. CFLeads staff discussed exciting new updates and heard from Darrin Goss,Sr., President and CEO of the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina, who shared how their foundation is leading change within their community.

In November, CFLeads was excited to welcome two new staff members to the team!

Darlean Dent, Executive Assistant Manager – Darlean is the Executive Assistant Manager to Mary Thomas, CFLeads President & CEO. She comes to CFLeads with over 20 years of experience in C-level executive support. Darlean is excited to work with community foundations from all across the country to support their community leadership work.

As the Executive Assistant Manager, Darlean provides administrative support and special project assistance to the office of the President.

Danka Klein, Director of Development and Marketing – Danka is the Director of Development and Marketing at CFLeads. She comes to the organization with over 12 years of experience as an executive director of a rural community foundation in Indiana. Danka is motivated to empower community foundations on their path to community leadership.  

As the Director of Development and Marketing, Danka advances strategies that connect the organization to local and national partners, leads the strategic development plan and oversees the marketing and communications activities.

Community foundations at the forefront of reigniting the spirit of generosity

In November, community foundations were spotlighted by CFLeads President & CEO, Mary L. Thomas, who talked to The Generosity Commission about the power and potential of community foundations in reigniting the spirit of generosity, volunteering and positive change in diverse communities across the country.

Speaking to a panel of large national funders, Mary showcased the value of reclaiming the basics of what community philanthropy should focus on, as well as the transformational power of community foundations. Thank you to the The Generosity Commission for having us!
