Join CFLeads and the National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI) for an interactive introduction to What’s Next, America?, a national initiative that invites communities to use America’s 250th anniversary not only as a moment of reflection, but as an opportunity to strengthen the civic skills and relationships we will need for the next 250 years. Participants will explore the initiative’s adaptable discussion and action-planning resources, learn about opportunities for community mini-grant funding, and consider how deliberative civic engagement can help community foundations strengthen civic health by bringing residents together across differences, building shared responsibility, and creating pathways from conversation to action. The workshop will also feature examples from the Walker Area Community Foundation, illustrating how community conversations, partnerships, and locally rooted action have helped strengthen civic life in Walker County, Alabama.
