Civic Health Grants

Community Foundations for Civic Health

Community Foundations for Civic Health (CFCH) is an initiative of CFLeads, the Rhode Island Foundation, the National Civic League, and other partners that enables community foundations to confidently strengthen civic health, achieving local impacts at a national scale.

The initiative helps community foundations leverage community leadership to coordinate local efforts, build their own plans for civic health improvement, access resources to carry out this important work, and learn from one another.

CFCH Grantmaking Strategy

Community Foundations for Civic Health (CFCH) has a multipronged approach to supporting community foundations at every stage of their civic health work. Grants to community foundations work alongside an annual Summit to convene the field, ongoing 8 month Virtual Learning Series to facilitate peer learning and access to the experts and frameworks that will support launching, deepening or strengthening civic health work and strategy.

As CFCH grows, we are prioritizing getting grant dollars out the door in order to invest and learn, capitalize on expressed commitment and need from community foundations, and strengthen this vital place based leadership to meet the moment. CFCH plans to launch three grant types: Planning, Measurement, and Implementation. More information regarding the eligibility of these grants will be updated on this page as opportunities open.

Planning Grants

CFCH Planning Grants support community foundations seeking to establish or deepen their civic health work.
