Community Foundation Leadership Roundtable
The CFLeads Community Foundation Leadership Roundtable is a space for connection, reflection, and shared learning across our network. In this session, we will be joined by Dick Ober, President & CEO of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and Ellen Gilligan, former President & CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. This conversation will explore what it means to lead with purpose in a changing environment – offering perspective on community leadership, field-building, and the role of community foundations in advancing long-term impact.
This series is open to community foundations of all sizes, and this session will be especially relevant for growth-stage organizations seeking to deepen their leadership practice and strengthen their role in community change.
Speakers

Dick Ober leads the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, the largest private provider of nonprofit grants and student aid in northern New England. The Foundation manages more than $1 billion in charitable funds donated by hundreds of families and individuals, and awards some 8,000 grants and scholarships exceeding $80 million annually.
Dick has 40 years of experience in nonprofit management and civic affairs. He is also the co-founder and past chair of the Community Foundation Opportunity Network (CFON) and a past chair of CFLeads.

Ellen Gilligan is the former President & CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and current Senior Advisor for Community Leadership at CFLeads. During her time at the Foundation, Gilligan positioned Greater Milwaukee as an innovative community leader, convener and catalyst, working across sectors to mobilize resources to address our community’s greatest opportunities and challenges.
During her tenure, the Foundation more than doubled its operating budget, awarded more than $774 million in grants and raised $731 million in new gifts and promises. Ellen is also a past chair of CFLeads.
